Mercer Labs: Immersive Art & Technology Museum in Downtown Manhattan
Mercer Labs is New York’s Museum of Art and Technology, an immersive multi-sensory experience located in the heart of Downtown Manhattan. Spread across 15 interconnected experimental rooms, it blends cutting-edge technology with art in a way that feels more like stepping inside the exhibits than simply looking at them.
The current main exhibition, Maestros & The Machines, reimagines the creative worlds of artists like Mozart, Da Vinci, and Hokusai through light, sound, motion, and interactive installations.
Guests move at their own pace through rooms filled with large-scale projections, infinity mirrors, kinetic displays, 4D sound environments, and one of the largest LED installations of its kind (over 500,000 lights).
Families and kids enjoy the interactive elements — many rooms respond to movement, sound, or touch. Most visitors spend 60–90 minutes exploring the full experience. The space is fully ADA accessible, and children must be supervised by an adult.
This works well for Chol Hamoed, rainy days, or anytime you want a modern, climate-controlled attraction near the World Trade Center, Oculus, and Financial District. It’s easy to reach by subway and pairs nicely with nearby downtown sights.
Tickets are timed, so booking in advance is recommended. Children under 3 are free.
