Searching for a children’s museum in New Jersey or family-friendly things to do in Monmouth County? The Monmouth Museum in Lincroft is a vibrant 15,000-square-foot destination that blends interactive play, STEAM education, art, history, and science for kids and families.
Located on the Brookdale Community College campus, this engaging museum features two dedicated children’s wings and rotating galleries. The Wonder Wing is designed for ages 6 and under with an under-the-sea theme: a whale slide (with its tongue as the slide!), pirate ship, lighthouse, treehouse, rope bridge, puzzle corner, stage for imaginative play, arts and crafts area, and cozy reading nook.
The Becker STEAM Wing brings science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life for all ages with hands-on exhibits including fossils, dinosaurs, horseshoe crabs, a paleo lab, recycled arts studio, aquaponics system, multimedia room, and magnet-building activities.
Rotating exhibitions in art, natural sciences, and cultural history keep visits fresh, while free craft supplies and interactive stations encourage creativity throughout the space. It’s the perfect indoor spot for rainy days, toddler playdates, or educational family outings near the Jersey Shore.
Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Closed Mondays. Hours for individual wings may vary slightly — check the website for the latest schedule. Free parking is available on campus.
